LIQUID FILLING SYSTEMS

Profill Liquid Fillers

1-5 litre filler
Profill manufacture gravimetric fillers for containers from 500g to 6kg
these small fillers are not intended to supesede traditional volumetric fillers usually used for small container sizes but are intended to provide a gravimetric option for products that may be difficult to fill volumetrically or where a versatile machine is required which can fill various small containers from a single source batch simply by changing the nominal value and the filling machine height.
Profill specialises in single head machine manufacture but we do integrate machines into conveyor systems etc. and up to 4 filling heads.

5 to 60kg machines
Profill manufacture machines in single head configuration of up to 4 filling heads.
We manufacture machines for products as diverse as grease right through to Avgas and corrosive chemicals.
Superior technology such as FIFO allows us to stage fill containers using the power of the Bizerba filling controllers to pass on the containers tare mass and to use the tare mass in the final stage where containers are checkweighed with known tare mass.
We manufacture filling machines suitable for filling: drums, plastic containers with bungs, buckets with or without bungs in lids or press on lids

Drum filling
Profill manufacture machines suitable for filling most drums, drum materials can be steel, plastic or composite material. We are able to build machines suitable for semi automatic filling or fully automatic drum handling and capping etc. Our innovative walking beam conveyor solution when coupled with a Profill drum filler provides a very economical solution for handling drums, orientating the bung hole to the filling nozzle position as well as being able to fit and tighten a bung into a drum after filling.

Pallet and IBC filling
Profill manufacture a high performance drum on pallet or IBC filling machine or special bag in box type containers.
The machine can be integrated into a conveyor system or pallets can be fed directly to a filling machine where the machine is able to fill the pre-orientated containers or containers can be filled individually by manual orientation of the filling head.
The machines can fill virtually any combination of containers on a pallet and are infinitely height adjustable for various height containers or IBC's

Filling features
Profill machines have various innovative features like auto regulation of filling machine stroke according to container height.
FIFO first in first out tare basis.
Fill and checkweighing of filling result in one weights and measures approved machine.
Data logging, and label printing and automatic label application

Grease and paste machines
Profill manufacture specific machines for the filling of grease and pastes into various types of containers including boxes and drums.
Our filling head technology allows us to provide an optimum solution for your application no matter what it is.

Resin and Viscous material filler
Profill Manufacture specific machines for the filling of various resins and viscous materials, special filling heads keep the weighing electronics and controllers away from the active part of the filler. Our machine provides a good solution to the sticky issue of resin filling and a number of examples are employed in various markets in the world. Our innovative 4 head filler for resin provides a good solution particularly if the resin filling is a time consuming affair due to onerous filtration requirements.

Filling methods
Various methods are employed to fill various types of products, certain factors dictate the filling method employed.

Level filling is recommended for the filling of open top containers where the product may be quite viscous or the product is non foaming or non volatile. If the product is likely to splash during filling then above levelfilling is not recommended. A positive benefit of above level filling is that filling time is not wasted during the raising and lowering of filling nozzles. A negative factor is however that the filling nozzle is not positively engaged in the container and splashing may occur.

In Bung Filling

In bung filling is the preferred method for filling products which are unlikely to foam and are filled at moderate speed, it is possible that in bung filling can aerate the process during filling. Higher velocities can create splashing. A positive benefit of in bung filling is that the filling nozzle is positively engaged during filling. Low flash products should not be filled using the in bung method.

Below level Filling

Below level filling is the preferred method for filling hazardous products which are likely to splash, products which generate static or classed as low flash products should only be filled using this method. High velocity filling is best performed using this method, velocity limits must be observed and the filling machine must control these velocities within certain limits.

Foaming products should be filled employing this method. Viscous products are usually not filled using this method.
